Coldingham is situated 3 miles from the A1
between Berwick and Dunbar, approximately
45 miles (50 minutes) from Edinburgh and
70 miles (90 minutes) from Newcastle by road. There are railway stations on the East Coast Main Line (London to Edinburgh) at Berwick and Dunbar. Avoid the cost and hassle of parking in Edinburgh by taking a 20 minute train journey from Dunbar, after a scenic drive from Coldingham!

The National Trust own the cliffs and headland at St Abbs, where you can follow the many footpaths to view the thousands of seabirds at close quarters. | ||
St Abbs is also a major centre for diving, with the clear waters around the harbour providing some of the best dives on the east coast. There is a diving center and school at Scoutscroft in Coldingham, offering courses and other services. There is also a great selection of golf courses, riding stables, fishing and many other activities and places of interest within easy reach. |

Just one minute's walk from the house is historic Coldingham Priory. There has been a religious presence on this site since c.643, through King Edgar's Charter to Durham in 1098, Cromwell's siege in 1648 and finally restoration in 1854. |
